Acceptance of the booking once it has been formalised implies the CLIENT’s agreement with this CANCELLATION POLICY established by BUCEO SUR.
Cancellations must be communicated in writing via email to buceosur.gc@gmail.com.
Cancellation on the client’s initiative
Regardless of the reason, we apply the following conditions:
- More than 1 week (7 days) before the scheduled date of the activity: 90% refund. We charge 10% for administrative and financial costs.
- Between 2 and 7 days before the scheduled date of the activity: 70% refund.
- Within 2 days (48 hours) before the scheduled date of the activity, or failure to show up on the day and time of the activity: No refund or rescheduling; 100% charges apply.
Special case: groups of 4 or more participants
- More than 15 days before the scheduled date of the activity: 90% refund.
- 15 – 3 days before the scheduled date of the activity: 50% refund.
- Within 2 days (48 hours) before the scheduled date of the activity: No refund or rescheduling; 100% charges apply.
Special case: service not completed by the client after it has started
For bookings of any service (scuba dive, discover scuba diving or diving course), if the client decides not to do the activity once it has started, to suspend it, or to abandon it for any reason, no refund of the amount paid will be made. In particular, for bookings of two dives on the same day, if after the first dive the diver decides not to do the second booked dive, 100% charges apply.
SSI eLearning and course materials
All non-professional diving courses include access to the SSI eLearning platform. SSI digital kits are non-refundable. However, in the event of cancellation, the digital courses can be used with any other SSI dive centre/instructor. The applicable price of the SSI eLearning access and materials will be deducted from the total price before the refund.
Arrivals more than 15 minutes late / no-show
The time indicated is the start of the booked activity. We recommend that you be at the meeting point 5 minutes before the start time. Delays of more than 15 minutes are considered a “no-show” and result in the impossibility of taking part in the booked activity. No refund or rescheduling; 100% charges apply.
Cancellation on BUCEO SUR’s initiative
Existing medical conditions
Regardless of the level of experience, Spanish law requires participants to be medically fit for any diving activity. Ensuring medical fitness for diving is the responsibility of each participant. A medical certificate may be required for certain existing medical conditions. Therefore, before booking/taking part in any diving activity, it is essential to review the medical questionnaire carefully. If a participant cannot provide a medical certificate, even though it is required for existing medical conditions, in accordance with Spanish law they will be excluded from taking part in the diving activity. Technical level that does not meet the minimum requirements of Open Water level or CMAS 1*
We always dive in small groups for your comfort and safety. However, the guide cannot devote exclusive attention and assistance to a single diver while neglecting the others.
In the event of more than 12 months without diving and little experience, BUCEO SUR recommends a dive skills review session. If the dive guide decides to cancel a dive for reasons of deficiency or lack of practice, to ensure the safety and peace of mind of the whole group, BUCEO SUR will charge 100% of the planned price.
Incorrect, incomplete communication or lack of necessary personal information
We strive to ensure a smooth experience by preparing all the equipment and mandatory legal documentation for your booked activity. As these preparations are generally finalised 1 to 2 days before the activity date, we kindly ask that each participant provide their personal information at the time of booking.
Please note that if the necessary information is incomplete, incorrect or not provided on time, the participant may not be able to join the activity. In particular, in cases where the client cannot provide proof of their dive level, proof of insurance or a valid medical certificate or medical questionnaire. Influence of a substance or physical condition incompatible with the practice of diving
BUCEO SUR reserves the right to refuse its services to clients under the influence of substances (e.g. drugs, alcohol, etc.). Likewise, BUCEO SUR reserves the right to refuse service to any client considered to be in a state of health incompatible with the reasonable practice of diving. For example, a client who has not slept because they arrived on an overnight flight. No refund or rescheduling; 100% charges apply.
Weather conditions
BUCEO SUR chooses dive locations based on safety, weather conditions and level of experience. Common winds, clouds or rain do not cause the cancellation of the activity.
In the event that the BUCEO SUR Dive Centre is forced to cancel any scheduled activity due to adverse weather conditions, safety reasons or force majeure, the client will be offered one of the following options:
- Reschedule the activity to a new available date.
- 100% refund of the amount paid, without any penalty.
